The Referees Association of Ghana has handed out bans to 61 referees captured in the Anas Aremeyaw Anas expos\u00e9 released in June.<\/p>\n
After the airing of the documentary, a 5-member committee was set up to look into the conduct of the 75 referees mentioned.<\/p>\n
After their work, they recommended certain punishments and the recommendations have been implemented by the association.<\/p>\n
61 referees were found guilty per committee\u2019s work and they were punished as follows: 53 were given 10-year bans while 8 were given lifetime bans.<\/p>\n
14 referees were exonerated completely.<\/p>\n
Members of the Referees Association confirmed the punitive measures to Citi Sports but did not give any further comments saying that a statement would be released in the coming week.<\/p>\n
