Females and males students of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Kumasi sleeping Common Hall will not only affect academics but also has spiritual implications, according to a seventy-three-year-old woman.<\/p>\n
\u201cSome females possess bad spirits which they can use it to destroy colleague males who are doing better in terms of academics\u201d, the old woman who gave her name as Akua Kyeiwaa revealed to us.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt has never happened before all my life experience. How can boys and girls sleep in the same hall \u201c, the old woman quizzed in a video in possession with MyNew appealing to authorities of the University to rescind the decision to convert the two halls.<\/p>\n
\u201cMy humble appeal to those people asking these children to sleep together should rescind such decision since the females could be impregnated eventually\u201d, Madam Akua Kyeiwaa spoke in Twi with our reporter, Kwabena Danso-Dapaah.<\/p>\n
It would be recalled that Fresh female students in August last month were admitted into Unity Hall [Conti] and University Hall is otherwise known as Katanga Hall on Campus of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) for the first time.<\/p>\n
Alumni of both halls protested against the conversion of their Halls but their resistance have been unsuccessful.<\/p>\n
They had earlier petitioned the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II who is also Chancellor of the institution and President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to help their fight against authorities.<\/p>\n
The alumni did all they could as they strengthened the fight with a massive demonstration in the capital of the Ashanti Region but authorities remained adamant and have since started admitting female students.<\/p>\n
The issue has since generated a heated argument between management of KNUST and Alumni of both Halls leading to armed military personnel being deployed on campus to keep the situation under wraps.<\/p>\n
