Kanye West launched into an expletive-filled rant as he lavished praise on US President Donald Trump at an event in the Oval Office.<\/p>\n
Wearing a Make America Great Again hat \u201cmade me feel like Superman\u201d, he said.<\/p>\n
West had been invited to the White House for lunch to discuss prison reform and other issues.<\/p>\n
At the end of the 10-minute monologue, during which Mr Trump nodded in approval, the president said: \u201cThat was quite something.\u201d<\/p>\n
West replied: \u201cIt was from the soul. I just channelled it.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI love this guy right here,\u201d West said, walking behind the desk to hug the seated president, who said: \u201cThat\u2019s really nice.\u201d<\/p>\n

On the Trump hat and Hillary Clinton
\nDuring his monologue that ranged from prison reform to manufacturing, politics and the universe, West said: \u201cThey tried to scare me, my friends, to not wear this hat, but this hat, it gives me power in a way.<\/p>\n
\u201cYou know, my dad and my mum separated, so I didn\u2019t have a lot of male energy in my home.\u201d<\/p>\n
He continued: \u201cI love Hillary, I love everyone, right.<\/p>\n

\n\u201cBut the campaign, I\u2019m With Her, just didn\u2019t make me feel as a guy that didn\u2019t get to see my dad all the time, like a guy that could play catch with his son.\u201d<\/p>\n
Addressing Mr Trump, he added: \u201cThere was something about when I put this hat on it made me feel like Superman.<\/p>\n
\u201cYou made a Superman \u2013 that\u2019s my favourite superhero \u2013 you made a Superman cape for me.\u201d
\nOn black Democrats
\nWest denied that all black Americans were Democrats.<\/p>\n
\u201cPeople expect that if you\u2019re black, you have to be Democrat,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf he [President Trump] don\u2019t look good, we don\u2019t look good,\u201d he said at one point, attacking the \u201cliberals\u201d on the Saturday Night Live show who have criticised his support for Mr Trump.<\/p>\n
Mr Trump won 8% of the African-American vote in 2016.
\nOn a future presidential run
\nMr Trump was asked by a journalist if West could be a future presidential candidate, and the president replied: \u201cCould very well be.\u201d<\/p>\n
West told reporters: \u201cLet\u2019s stop worrying about the future, all we have is today.
\n\u201cTrump is on his hero\u2019s journey right now.\u201d<\/p>\n
He added: \u201cYou might not have expected a crazy [expletive] like Kanye running up to support.\u201d<\/p>\n
On misdiagnosis
\nWest told the assembled group an earlier diagnosis of bipolar disorder was incorrect, according to a neuro-psychologist he saw.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe said that I actually wasn\u2019t bipolar, I had sleep deprivation, which could cause dementia 10 to 20 years from now where I wouldn\u2019t even remember my son\u2019s name,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
West has previously revealed he received treatment for bipolar disorder and has made reference to it in his music.
\nOn schools
\n\u201cSometimes people say, \u2018This kid has ADD [Attention Deficit Disorder], this kid has ADD.’\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cYou don\u2019t have ADD, school is boring. It is boring, it\u2019s not as exciting as this,\u201d he said gesturing towards his mobile phone.<\/p>\n
At one point he typed in his mobile phone password, in full view of the assembled news cameras \u2013 a fact which did not go unnoticed by the world.
\nOn Chicago
\nWest was ostensibly at the lunch in part to discuss crime in Chicago, his hometown.<\/p>\n
He asked Mr Trump to pardon the leader of a notorious Chicago street gang, and called on the president to build \u201cTrump factories\u201d in Chicago.<\/p>\n
At one point he did disagree with Mr Trump, saying that he considers police \u201cstop-and-frisk\u201d to be unhelpful.<\/p>\n
Mr Trump has called upon Chicago police to institute the practice, which allows random searches.<\/p>\n
\u201cI didn\u2019t mean to put you on blast like that, bro,\u201d West told Mr Trump.
\nOn North Korea<\/p>\n
\u201cI like the North Korea,\u201d West said.<\/p>\n
\u201cYou stopped the war,\u201d he told Mr Trump.<\/p>\n
\u201cDay One, solved one of his biggest problems. We solved one of the biggest problems.\u201d<\/p>\n
And the lunch itself\u2026
\nWest visited Mr Trump at his eponymous Manhattan skyscraper in 2016, a month after he won the election, but this was the rapper\u2019s first trip to the White House.<\/p>\n
West\u2019s wife, reality TV star Kim Kardashian, has made two visits to the White House.
\nDuring her first trip there, she successfully argued to have a grandmother\u2019s prison sentence commuted by Mr Trump.<\/p>\n
