Head suspended for allegedly sodomizing 4 students"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-13232\" src=\"https:\/\/www.kumasionlinegh.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/Kumasi-High-School.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"220\" height=\"220\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.kumasionlinetv.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/Kumasi-High-School.jpg 220w, https:\/\/www.kumasionlinetv.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/Kumasi-High-School-150x150.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 220px) 100vw, 220px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The Assistant Headmaster of Kumasi High School, George Amponsah-Duodo, has been suspended by the Ashanti Regional Education Directorate over allegations that he has sodomized some students of the boys school.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Regional Education Directorate, the 54-year-old\u2019s suspension is to allow investigations to be conducted into the matter without any interference.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Amponsah-Duodu is alleged to have engaged in acts of sodomy with some students in the all-male school.<\/p>\n<p>Four students have so far leveled allegations against the school head.<\/p>\n<p>The Public Relations officer of the GES in the Ashanti Region, Mark Ofori, said the action against the Assistant Headmaster is to ascertain the truth.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cUnder the leadership of Mrs. Mary Owusu Achiaaw, the GES in Ashanti is poised to take out any miscreant who has decided not to abide by the rules and the tenets of the service.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe issue of alleged sodomy at Kumasi High has come to our notice. It has been referred to our legal department and we have started our primary investigations into the case. As it stands, the accused has been asked to step aside. We urge the public to have confidence in the directorate pending the conclusion of investigations,\u201d he said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The accused headmaster is reported to have commenced his career in 1996 as a teacher.<\/p>\n<p>He however rose through the ranks to become Assistant Headmaster of Kumasi High School in November 2015.<\/p>\n<p>He is\u00a0married with four children.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ejisuman SHS sexual abuse : 4 teachers sacked, 4 transferred<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In July 2018, the Ghana Education Service (GES),sacked four teachers of the Ejisuman Senior High School in the Ashanti Region for\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/citinewsroom.com\/2018\/07\/05\/ejisuman-shs-sexual-abuse-4-teachers-sacked-4-transferred\/\">sexually assaulting some students<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>In March 2018, some nine teachers of the school were interdicted, after they allegedly abused some female students sexually.<\/p>\n<p>Over a dozen of the students who testified said they were sexually abused in various forms.<\/p>\n<p>The development compelled the Education Minister, Dr. Matthew Opoku, to warn that the government will take on any Regional Director of Education who fails to protect female students who are victims of sexual abuse by teachers in Senior High Schools across the country.<\/p>\n<p>The Minister indicated that boarding schools cannot be used as brothels by male teachers who usually engage in sexual relationships with their female students.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Assistant Headmaster of Kumasi High School, George Amponsah-Duodo, has been suspended by the Ashanti Regional Education Directorate over allegations that he has sodomized some students of the boys school.
