Ghana\u2019s teenage sensation Mukarama Abdulai has been named in CAF\u2019s 15-woman shortlist for the Women\u2019s African Player f the Year award.<\/p>\n
The 16 year old first caught the attention of the continent, scoring 12 goals in 4 games, helping Ghana\u2019s Black Maidens qualify for the Under 17 Women\u2019s World Cup in Uruguay.<\/p>\n
The Northern Ladies forward then went on to announce herself to the world, banging 7 goals in 4 games at the world cup as Ghana exited at the quarter final stage at the hands of Mexico.<\/p>\n
Mukarama, in doing this broke Jane Ayieyam\u2019s record of the most goals scored by a Ghanaian at the competition.<\/p>\n
At 16, Mukarama is the youngest nominee on the shortlist which includes big names like reigning African Footballer of the year Asisat Ohoala, one 2015 winner Gaelle Enganamouit, and South African forward Chrestinah Kgatlana.<\/p>\n
Black Queens duo of Portia Boakye and Elizabeth Addo have also been included in the shortlist. The winner of the award will be named at the CAF Awards Gala on January 8 2019.<\/p>\n
