R. Kelly<\/a>\u00a0has reportedly claimed that he does not know many of the women interviewed for a\u00a0shocking documentary about his past<\/a>, which finished airing on Lifetime over the weekend.<\/p>\n

Sources close to\u00a0the embattled R&B singer<\/a>, 51,\u00a0told TMZ<\/a>\u00a0that he has not watched any of the six-part series and that he is allegedly \u201cdisgusted\u201d by the allegations made in the film. The sources added to TMZ that he sees it as a \u201cvendetta\u201d led by people who\u2019ve hated him since his career took off in the early \u201990s.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s more, sources told the outlet that Kelly did not know about half the people involved in the series, which included numerous women who claimed to have had sex with him when they were underage.<\/p>\n

Kelly reportedly also alleged that people who wanted to defend him were not allowed to appear on the documentary and that \u201che\u2019s going to sue everybody who had anything to do with this,\u201d according to TMZ.<\/p>\n

The production company behind the series denied Kelly\u2019s claims to PEOPLE, saying there is \u201cno truth to that comment at all. We would have welcomed someone who knew him and actively wanted to defend him.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kelly\u2019s rep declined PEOPLE\u2019s request for comment on TMZ\u2019s report. His\u00a0lawyer did not immediately respond to PEOPLE\u2019s request for comment.<\/p>\n

Surviving R. Kelly\u00a0<\/i>\u2014 which\u00a0aired on Lifetime from Thursday, January 3 to Saturday, January 5 \u2014\u00a0featured wide-ranging interviews with\u00a0Kelly\u2019s family members<\/a>, former friends and colleagues, but most notably, women who claim that for decades the hit-making singer and producer used his power and influence to sexually and\u00a0physically abuse women<\/a>\u00a0and young girls.<\/p>\n

Representatives for Kelly, born Robert Sylvester Kelly, previously responded: \u201cno comment\u201d to PEOPLE\u2019s request for a\u00a0response to the allegations<\/a>\u00a0made in\u00a0Surviving R. Kelly<\/i>\u00a0and interviews with alleged victims in this week\u2019s issue of PEOPLE, on newsstands now.<\/p>\n

In 2002, the Chicago native was indicted after a video surfaced allegedly showing a man engaged in sex acts with a woman who some witnesses testified was 14 at the time of the recording.<\/p>\n

Both Kelly and the woman denied that the video was of them, and Kelly was never charged with assault. In 2008, Kelly was found not guilty on 21\u00a0counts of child pornography<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The musician does not currently face any criminal charges, but he has reportedly settled several civil\u00a0lawsuits with women. Dream Hampton, who executive produced the documentary,\u00a0wants Kelly to be held accountable.<\/p>\n
