{"id":14047,"date":"2019-01-29T20:38:50","date_gmt":"2019-01-29T20:38:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.kumasionlinegh.com\/?p=14047"},"modified":"2019-01-29T20:38:50","modified_gmt":"2019-01-29T20:38:50","slug":"ken-agyapong-referred-to-privileges-cttee-over-comments-prior-to-ahmed-suales-death","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kumasionlinetv.com\/?p=14047","title":{"rendered":"Ken Agyapong referred to Privileges C\u2019ttee over comments prior to Ahmed Suale\u2019s death"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-14048\" src=\"https:\/\/www.kumasionlinegh.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/Kenndy-Agyapong.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"768\" height=\"568\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.kumasionlinetv.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/Kenndy-Agyapong.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.kumasionlinetv.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/Kenndy-Agyapong-406x300.jpg 406w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The Speaker of Parliament has referred a case of contempt of Parliament brought against Assin Central Member of Parliament, Ken Agyapong to the Privileges Committee of the House.<\/p>\n<p>This is the second time Kennedy Agyapong has been dragged to the committee in recent times over comments deemed harmful to the reputation of Parliament.<\/p>\n<p>In this instance, Minority Chief Whip, Muntaka Mubarak, who was the architect of a previous invitation of his colleague to the Committee, called on the Speaker to refer the member to the Privileges Committee for comments made regarding the slain Tiger Eye investigator, Ahmed Suale, months before his death.<\/p>\n<p>Ahmed was allegedly killed in broad daylight by two men on a motorbike, while he was leaving home late on January 16, 2019, at Madina, a suburb of Accra.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/phpOms1leug\" width=\"645\" height=\"363\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><br \/>\nMajority Leader, Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu on his part, did not object to the call for the matter to be referred to the Privileges Committee.<\/p>\n<p>Ahmed Suale was reportedly shot twice in the chest and once in the neck by two gunmen on a motorbike at Madina, killing him instantly.<\/p>\n<p>The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) has subsequently interrogated some persons; including the Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong, and former GFA president,\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/citinewsroom.com\/2019\/01\/22\/nyantakyi-ken-agyapong-interrogated-over-ahmed-suale-killing\/\">Kwesi Nyantakyi.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Kennedy Agyapong has come under fire for allegedly inciting violence against Suale during the heat of the Number 12 expos\u00e9 which exposed deep corruption in Ghana football.<\/p>\n<p>But Kennedy Agyapong has insisted that\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/citinewsroom.com\/2019\/01\/17\/i-didnt-kill-ahmed-hes-irrelevant-to-my-life-kennedy-agyapong\/\">he has nothing to do with the journalist\u2019s death<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is what I said. This boy is not relevant to my life. This boy is irrelevant to my life. Why would I be stupid and order people to kill him looking at how far God has brought me? He has not offended me in any way. They should look for those who may be behind this heinous act. This is just cheap propaganda.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Arrest Ken Agyapong and prosecute him over Ahmed\u2019s murder \u2013 Minority<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Minority in Parliament had earlier called on the police to swiftly\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/citinewsroom.com\/2019\/01\/21\/arrest-ken-agyapong-and-prosecute-him-over-ahmeds-murder-minority\/\"><strong>arrest<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0and begin prosecution of Kennedy Agyapong, for what his alleged complicity in Ahmed Hussein-Suale.<\/p>\n<p>The Minority insists that their fellow MP knowingly or unknowingly aided in the killing of the journalist.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is on this basis that we state that Mr. Agyapong appears to bear some criminal responsibility for the death of Ahmed for instigating the public to cause harm to Anas for monetary reward,\u201d the Minority said in a press conference addressed by James Agalga,\u00a0the Minority Spokesperson on Defence and Interior.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cWe call on the law enforcement agencies to promptly cause Mr. Agyapong\u2019s arrest and prosecute him for his actions.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>\u2013<\/p>\n<p>Source: Citionline<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Speaker of Parliament has referred a case of contempt of Parliament brought against Assin Central Member of Parliament, Ken Agyapong to the Privileges Committee of the House.
