{"id":14464,"date":"2019-05-19T19:27:33","date_gmt":"2019-05-19T19:27:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.kumasionlinegh.com\/?p=14464"},"modified":"2019-05-20T19:31:36","modified_gmt":"2019-05-20T19:31:36","slug":"police-interrogate-stonebwoy-over-vgma-commotion-with-shatta-wale","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kumasionlinetv.com\/?p=14464","title":{"rendered":"Police interrogate Stonebwoy over VGMA commotion with Shatta Wale"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"626\" height=\"417\" src=\"https:\/\/www.kumasionlinegh.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/stonebwoy-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-14465\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.kumasionlinetv.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/stonebwoy-2.jpg 626w, https:\/\/www.kumasionlinetv.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/stonebwoy-2-410x273.jpg 410w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 626px) 100vw, 626px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Reggae and dancehall artiste, Livingstone Etse Satekla popularly known in showbiz circles as \u2018Stonebwoy\u2019 is being interrogated by the Police.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It follows the fracas that occurred between Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It started when Stonebwoy was called to the stage to receive the award for \u2018Reggae\/Dancehall Artiste of the Year\u2019 during last Saturday\u2019s event.Citi News\u00a0sources say the Police have also invited Shatta Wale over the incident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hanson Agyemang reported that the two had been invited by the Accra Regional Police Command.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>\u201cWe are not clear what the terms of the invitation are but it is related to yesterday\u2019s incident. I have personally seen Shatta Wale who came in a few minutes ago. He was escorted by one of the senior officers at the station. I have been told Stonebwoy is here but I have not seen him personally,\u201d he said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>It was not clear what triggered the fight but the audience and viewers at home saw Stonebwoy pull out a gun before walking off stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Reports suggest that Shatta Wale walked on the stage with his fans allegedly to congratulate Stonebwoy for the award but the move was interpreted by Stonebwoy\u2019s team as an attempt to protest against the award going to their favourite musician.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Confusion halts awards\u2019 night<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The confusion that ensued after that clash halted proceedings at the venue and the live broadcast for some minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Stonebwoy later returned to denounce Shatta Wale alleging that he wanted blood and death in Ghana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Calm was restored after nearly 30 minutes with the show continuing till the end.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While some patrons left during the melee, many stayed till the end of the show.<strong>Stonebwoy apologizes<\/strong>Stonebwoy, however, apologized when he came back on stage later to accept the award for \u2018Songwriter of the Year.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>\u201cI am really sorry for the incident that happened earlier on and I only had to react out of natural instincts because we all know how premeditative some people can be. We\u2019ve seen on social media the threats and everything so we couldn\u2019t come in unprepared because anything could have happened as you guys saw. I come in peace and I go in peace and I apologize to the whole masses of Ghana that the Awards is going to continue. Thank you very much for supporting my music, for supporting everybody else\u2019s music. By their deeds we have all seen [them].\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale, both dancehall musicians are known rivals in the dancehall\/reggae space.
