{"id":14867,"date":"2020-05-24T23:21:53","date_gmt":"2020-05-24T23:21:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.kumasionlinegh.com\/?p=14867"},"modified":"2020-05-24T23:21:55","modified_gmt":"2020-05-24T23:21:55","slug":"election-2020-ndcs-major-problem-is-mahama-not-a-new-voters-register-wontumi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kumasionlinetv.com\/?p=14867","title":{"rendered":"Election 2020: NDC\u2019s major problem is Mahama not a new Voters\u2019 Register \u2013 Wontumi"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>\u201cThe main problem of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) as the Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana plans to prepare a new voters\u2019 register for the December 7 polls is the party\u2019s flagbearer, John&nbsp; DramaniMahama, Ashanti Regional Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Bernard Antwi Boasiako alias Chairman Wontumi claims.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cMahama himself is the problem not the new register that will come into existence\u201d, Chairman Wontumi said in an interview on his network, Wontumi TV\/Radio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Chairman Wontumi explained that \u201ceven in 2016, the NDC had the old register to their advantage but the NPP won. The NDC had the Chairperson of the EC and IGP on their side but we still won. John Mahama had all the money but he lost. They know their problem is their&nbsp; flagbearer and not the new register\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The leadership of the NDC through their General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has given an indication that they will create chaos to stop the EC from compiling a new voter register for the 2020 general elections .<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the NDC, the EC\u2019s motive will not promote a free,&nbsp; fair&nbsp; and transparent election and possibly disenfranchise most Ghanaians in the upcoming general elections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In an interview, the NDC scribe stated that \u201cwe are all part of the framers of the constitution and have placed the EC in charge of our elections in order to maintain the country\u2019s democracy so that whoever becomes president is the only one duly elected by Ghanaians.
