A member of the Government\u2019s <\/strong>Team, Hajia Ama Frimpong has cautioned that security personnel will deal ruthlessly with any individual who tries to disrupt the voter registration process.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Electoral Commission has earmarked June 30 to start compiling a new voters register ahead of the 2020 elections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The National Democratic Congress, NDC, on the other hand, is challenging the Electoral Commission\u2019s insistence on the use of the Ghana Card and Passport as the only form of identification for the registration exercise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The NDC has said it will resist with their last breath to ensure that the illegal registration exercise does not take place because if it does, it will mean a total extinction of the NDC from the country\u2019s body politic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reacting to the stance by the National Democratic Congress, NDC, Hajia Ama Frimpong who is member of the government\u2019s communication team has issued a barrage of stern warning to any individual who is thinking of disrupting the process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to her, no one has the right to stop the electoral commission from not undertaking the imperative exercise so they should not not habour any form of fear because its their right to and that cannot be trampled upon by any individual.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She noted that the Security Authorities in the country are very prepared to deal with people who will disrupt the registration exercise across the country so the youth especially should not be played by power hungry politicians who will use them to serve their parochial intertest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNo one can prevent you from going to exercise your rights. No one can prevent you from going to register for the new voters register. Go and exercise your right because what you\u2019re going to do is enshrined in the constitution. If any individual doesn\u2019t know and they try to disrupt the process, the security personnel will deal ruthlessly with such people and if they\u2019re able to stand such treatment, they won\u2019t go back to their old ways\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIf you\u2019re being sponsored by someone to come and disrupt the process, have a rethink of your decision because when you\u2019re taken away, such persons will not come to your aid. You\u2019ll rot in jail without seeing their faces so don\u2019t be used to disrupt the registration exercise,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
