{"id":15771,"date":"2020-06-24T08:34:39","date_gmt":"2020-06-24T08:34:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.kumasionlinegh.com\/?p=15771"},"modified":"2020-06-24T08:34:41","modified_gmt":"2020-06-24T08:34:41","slug":"state-files-new-charges-against-nam1","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kumasionlinetv.com\/?p=15771","title":{"rendered":"State files new charges against NAM1"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>The Attorney General\u2019s Department has filed new charges against the embattled Chief Executive Officer of Menzgold, Nana Appiah Mensah.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Appiah Mensah, who is popular known as NAM1, is facing 63 counts of money laundering, stealing, taking deposits without authority with other family members now at large.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At an Accra High Court on Tuesday, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Sylvester Asare told the Court that the State had filed a new charge sheet against the accused but his directives were that he should hold on to it and also the plea taking of the accused<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe, therefore, plead with the court not to take his plea as there will be further instructions l need to adhere to going forward,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Court presided over by Ms Ellen Asamoah granted the request of the prosecution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ocdn.eu\/pulscms-transforms\/1\/86Ck9kpTURBXy83YjBlYTg2OWE2YTYxMjAyZTA0ZjMyNjg2MzQyZDdkYi5qcGeSlQLNAxQAwsOVAgDNAvjCw4GhMAE\" alt=\"Embattled CEO of Menzgold, Nana Appiah Mensah\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Embattled CEO of Menzgold, Nana Appiah Mensah<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Circuit Court on July 26, 2019, granted NAM 1 bail in the sum of GH\u00a2 1 billion cedis with five sureties, three to be justified.
