{"id":16872,"date":"2020-08-11T07:54:52","date_gmt":"2020-08-11T07:54:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.kumasionlinegh.com\/?p=16872"},"modified":"2020-08-11T07:54:54","modified_gmt":"2020-08-11T07:54:54","slug":"how-we-got-rawlings-to-stop-the-needless-killings-of-public-officials-others-prof-ahwoi-recounts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kumasionlinetv.com\/?p=16872","title":{"rendered":"How we got Rawlings to stop the needless killings of public officials, others \u2013 Prof Ahwoi recounts"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Former Local Government Minister under the Jerry John Rawlings administration, Prof. Kwamena Ahwoi has recounted how he and some advisers in the then government threatened the former President to put an end to the reckless execution or risk losing them.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rawlings\u2019 administration prior to the introduction of Democracy according to history saw a number of individuals being executed for crimes which were against the state\u2019s progress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These executions included Public officials, Court Justices and even civil servants whose crimes were sometimes unknown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prof. Kwamena Ahwoi in his controversial \u201cworking with Rawlings\u201d book recalled how he and other advisers of the former President walked to him and threatened to leave if the executions are not stopped.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said Jerry John Rawlings \u2018sacked\u2019 them from his office but that was the day executions ended in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI recount how a group of Rawlings\u2019 closest advisers, including myself confronted him one early morning with a demand for him to \u201cstop the executions\u201d or risk our exit from his government.
