In fact, they didn\u2019t even write to us that they wanted the video,\u201d Paul Adom-Otchere said on his programme on Tuesday, 16 February.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He indicated that if the party had written officially to the station to request the video in the interest of justice, the station would have obliged and presented the video to anyone who needs it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cBut we do not like it when our video is captured on social media or some other way and is attached to the petitioner\u2019s claims and they send it to court and they invite the court to play it and they still will not recognise that this video is from Metro TV, we do not like that one bit,\u201d angry Adom-Otchere stated further.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ll send a bill to Sammy Gyamfi; GH\u00a21,250 and you are going to buy our crew Marwako fried rice and chicken for three consecutive programmes,\u201d he stressed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Adom-Otchere explained that his team worked very hard in putting that interview which has become evidence for the Petitioner in the ongoing\u00a0Election Petition\u00a0together, all in the name of healthy competition with other media houses and also to serve public interest purposes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe don\u2019t want people to just take our video, go to court and ask the court to show it and you don\u2019t say anything about Metro TV [\u2026] but that video doesn\u2019t belong to you. I do not even know why the court did not ask them where did you get the video from; the video is not yours, it\u2019s not NDC TV, it is Metro TV and the interview was not conducted by the editor of NDC TV news, it was conducted by Good Evening Ghana on Metro TV\u2026,\u201d he noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Adom-Otchere insisted that since Metro TV was not mentioned as the source of the video, \u201cwe\u2019re upset about that\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c\u2026It\u2019s our work, it\u2019s not your work. You don\u2019t take somebody\u2019s work to the court and say show it in support of my case without recognising that this is somebody\u2019s work. I am totally shocked! This is the altar of law, this is the platform of law. Intellectual property is a cardinal part of today\u2019s law, that intellectual property is so serious\u2026I don\u2019t like that!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cYou don\u2019t respect our work and we are disappointed and if you know the work we do here, you will respect it. We respect your work and we expect you to respect our work; it\u2019s very very important. This is bad. NDC lawyers don\u2019t do that again,\u201d he warned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Background<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A video of Peter Mac Manu, the Campaign Chairman of the NPP saying the NDC reps would return to the Electoral Commission Strong Room was played in court in the ongoing election petition hearing at the Supreme Court.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Good Evening Ghana clip showed Mac Manu speaking to show host Paul Adom-Otchere concerning how the NDC\u2019s reps \u2013 Robert Joseph Mettle-Nunoo and Dr Michael Kpessa-Whyte \u2013 had left the Electoral Commission \u2018strongroom\u2019 at a point during the collation of presidential results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mac Manu is heard saying: \u201cThey left\u2026because I remember former Ghana\u2019s Ambassador to Zimbabwe&#8230;Sylvanus Tamaklo came looking for them but specifically, he was looking for Rojo. So, he stood there and I told him that they just went out, I think they will come because their laptops are here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cSo he too was hanging around aaa, later I saw him. I said they will come, try and call him. So I just went out and came back. He was still standing, when I came they were not there. But we were waiting for Savelugu and I think certification of Bono East.
