{"id":19064,"date":"2021-04-09T08:12:37","date_gmt":"2021-04-09T08:12:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.kumasionlinegh.com\/?p=19064"},"modified":"2021-04-09T08:12:39","modified_gmt":"2021-04-09T08:12:39","slug":"journalist-shot-dead-at-her-home","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kumasionlinetv.com\/?p=19064","title":{"rendered":"Journalist shot dead at her home"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>A journalist working with&nbsp;Kenya\u2019s state broadcaster&nbsp;was shot dead at her home in the outcasts of the capital Nairobi.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Two gunmen entered Betty Barasa\u2019s home as she was driving in from work on Wednesday evening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They ordered her husband and children to lie on the ground and one of the gunmen took Ms Barasa to her bedroom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The family later heard two gunshots and the gunman walked out of the bedroom and left with the other one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Police in the Ngong area say Ms. Barasa succumbed to injuries to her head.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The motive for her killing remains unclear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The media council has condemned the killing and called for a speedy investigation<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><a href=\"https:\/\/mynewsghana.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Screenshot-31.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mynewsghana.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Screenshot-31-379x500.png\" alt=\"Betty-Barasa-536x424-1\" class=\"wp-image-87683\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A journalist working with&nbsp;Kenya\u2019s state broadcaster&nbsp;was shot dead at her home in the outcasts of the capital Nairobi.
