{"id":20159,"date":"2021-04-30T08:26:58","date_gmt":"2021-04-30T08:26:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.kumasionlinegh.com\/?p=20159"},"modified":"2021-04-30T08:26:59","modified_gmt":"2021-04-30T08:26:59","slug":"ghana-fa-cup-mtn-renews-sponsorship-for-three-seasons-with-over-ghs4m","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kumasionlinetv.com\/?p=20159","title":{"rendered":"Ghana FA Cup: MTN renews sponsorship for three seasons with over GHS4m"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>MTN Ghana has extended their sponsorship of the FA Cup for three seasons with a total package worth over GHS4 million, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) announced on Tuesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The package includes an annual sponsorship amount of GHS1 million, GHS20,000&nbsp;for the \u2018Man of the Match\u2019 prize and MTN products worth GHS390,000<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The new agreement is for a period of&nbsp;three seasons&nbsp;commencing from the&nbsp;current 2020\/21 season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Commenting on the new agreement with the GFA, the Chief Marketing Officer for MTN, Mr Noel Kojo-Ganson expressed his delight about the opportunity given MTN to continue to brighten the lives of professionals in the football fraternity and the teaming fans who have over the years benefited from the revival of the FA CUP Tournament in Ghana since it was relaunched in 2010.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said, \u201cas a company that connects people, we are happy to use football as an avenue for our customers to entertain themselves and rejuvenate. \u201cWe, therefore, are confident that the ensuing benefits of the revival of the game will go a long way to strengthen the existing Football Clubs, unearth more talents, drive competition and make Ghana Football the envy of Africa. \u201c<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The GFA commenced this great relationship with MTN in the 2010-11 season, to revive the FA Cup competition which had then been off the football calendar for a decade.&nbsp;Since the first agreement, the parties have renewed the sponsorship on two occasions \u2013 2013 and 2017&nbsp;at a total sponsorship package of GHS1,100,000.00 per year (that is GHS800,000 cash and GHS310,000 MTN Recharge cards\/products).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The last agreement was truncated due to a scandal following the investigative piece by Anas Aremeyaw Anas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The MTN FA Cup is a thrilling competition which brings together 18 Premier League clubs, 48 Division One League clubs and 44 Division Two League clubs from the 10 Regional Football Associations making 110 clubs.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Division One League clubs and the Regional Division Two League clubs play in the Preliminary stage and winners are joined by the \u201cbig boys\u201d -18 Premier League clubs in the main competition at the Round of 64 stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The winner of the MTN FA Cup receives a giant trophy, cash and products from MTN and qualifies to play in the CAF Confederation Cup competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Source<\/strong>:\u00a0<a>ghanafa.org<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Send your news stories to\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:dannyboy744@gmail.com\">dannyboy744@gmail.com<\/a>\u00a0and via WhatsApp on +233 266777777<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>MTN Ghana has extended their sponsorship of the FA Cup for three seasons with a total package worth over GHS4 million, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) announced on Tuesday.
