{"id":21479,"date":"2021-05-23T07:08:55","date_gmt":"2021-05-23T07:08:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.kumasionlinegh.com\/?p=21479"},"modified":"2021-05-23T07:08:56","modified_gmt":"2021-05-23T07:08:56","slug":"change-of-voting-time-not-necessary-asa-asante-to-ec","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kumasionlinetv.com\/?p=21479","title":{"rendered":"Change of voting time not necessary \u2013 Asa Asante to EC"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Political Scientist Dr Asa Asante has called on the Electoral Commission to focus on more pertinent issues than cutting voting time from 5 pm to 3 pm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The NDC, on Thursday, May 20, rejected the Electoral Commission\u2019s proposal to close polls at 3 pm in the 2024 general elections and other future elections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But in an interview with Starr News, Dr Asante said \u201cthere are more pressing issues the EC must attend to instead of the time of the close of polls.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe last election brought a lot of problems in the polls and I believe that this is the time that the EC should sit down properly and address them head-on,\u201d he noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He added \u201cand in our last election, we saw shooting at the electoral polling station.
