{"id":23347,"date":"2021-06-16T15:59:48","date_gmt":"2021-06-16T15:59:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.kumasionlinegh.com\/?p=23347"},"modified":"2021-06-16T15:59:49","modified_gmt":"2021-06-16T15:59:49","slug":"napo-receives-ghanas-first-electric-car","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kumasionlinetv.com\/?p=23347","title":{"rendered":"Napo Receives Ghana\u2019s First Electric Car"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Minister of Energy, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh, popularly known as Napo, has received Ghana\u2019s first electric vehicle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The vehicle was presented to the Minister by Hyundai Motors and Investment Ghana Limited at the Energy Ministry in Accra on Wednesday morning, June 16, 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/dailyguidenetwork.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/electric-car-1-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"457\" height=\"343\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In a statement to receive the vehicle, Dr. Opoku Prempeh observed that Ghana was making strides in shifting from the use of fuel cars to electric cars<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said the Government of Ghana as pointed out to Parliament by Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, sometime back, is committed to making electric vehicles for use by the masses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He stated that the vehicle presented to the ministry will be tested for a period to know how it performs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He observed the need to have a policy in place to make electric cars affordable for the citizens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/dailyguidenetwork.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/electraic-car-2-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"463\" height=\"347\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>He stated that the Energy Ministry will work with other ministries to ensure that the commercial Transport sector starts moving towards electric vehicles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to him, the cost of running and maintaining electric vehicle is cheaper than fuel cars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>General Manager of Hyundai Motors and Investment Ghana Limited, Ganesh Y.
