{"id":24528,"date":"2021-07-01T06:53:54","date_gmt":"2021-07-01T06:53:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.kumasionlinegh.com\/?p=24528"},"modified":"2021-07-01T06:54:41","modified_gmt":"2021-07-01T06:54:41","slug":"2021-closed-season-begins-today","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kumasionlinetv.com\/?p=24528","title":{"rendered":"2021 closed season begins today"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The 2021 Closed Season for fishing takes effect&nbsp; from today [Thursday], for both artisanal and semi-industrial fleets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The annual practice aimed at restocking depleted marine fish stock commenced in the year 2019 but could not be observed last year due to the covid-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, the 2021 season, which was announced by the government some weeks ago begins today [Thursday, July 1, 2021] till the end of July.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/citinewsroom.com\/2021\/06\/2021-closed-season-begins-on-july-1-fisheries-ministry\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">&nbsp;Ministry of Fisheries<\/a><\/strong>&nbsp;and Aquaculture Development and the Fisheries Commission announced this in a press statement issued on June 11, 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the statement, the ban is binding on artisanal and inshore fleets, as well as industrial fleets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe closed season for both artisanal and inshore fleets and industrial fleet starts on 1st July to 31st July 2021.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It added that fishing operators are expected to berth at all landing sites by midnight, on June 30.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe Fisheries Commission would like to bring to the attention of all fishing operators the need to berth at port\/anchorage or at the various landing sites before the end midnight of 30th June 2021.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Source: citinewsroom.com<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Send your news stories to&nbsp;<a href=\"mailto:dannyboy744@gmail.com\">dannyboy744@gmail.com<\/a>&nbsp;and via WhatsApp on +233 266777777<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The 2021 Closed Season for fishing takes effect&nbsp; from today [Thursday], for both artisanal and semi-industrial fleets.
