{"id":26602,"date":"2021-07-29T21:57:08","date_gmt":"2021-07-29T21:57:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.kumasionlinegh.com\/?p=26602"},"modified":"2021-07-29T21:57:09","modified_gmt":"2021-07-29T21:57:09","slug":"hundreds-of-pragya-and-okada-riders-trained-on-road-safety-in-techiman","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kumasionlinetv.com\/?p=26602","title":{"rendered":"Hundreds of pragya and okada riders trained on road safety in Techiman"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The lack of knowledge and the absence of safe riding practices and procedures are among the major causes of road accidents on Ghana\u2019s highways.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To help curb this menace, the Pragya Riders Association, in collaboration with the National Road Safety Authority (NRSA) held a day\u2019s workshop in the Techiman Municipality with the objective of ensuring the safety and well-being of these riders and the communities they operate in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Chairman of the Techiman Pragya Riders Association Mr. Awal Mohammed told\u00a0Joy News\u00a0that the exercise aims at reducing road accidents as well as getting rid of under-aged riders from the Pragya business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.myjoyonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/WhatsApp-Image-2021-07-29-at-4.12.16-PM-1024x768.jpeg\" alt=\"Hundreds of pragya and okada riders trained on road safety in Techiman\" title=\"Hundreds of pragya and okada riders trained on road safety in Techiman\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cToday\u2019s workshop is meant for us to give our members refresher courses to remind them of their duty to remain careful on the road, to remind them of some of the road signs because we always have to be very careful on the road so we can reduce the number of accidents in this area.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He added that the exercise also sought to, \u201csensitize them on the need to have riding licenses, on the need to move away under-aged riders from the system because they are supposed to be in school and not riding.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He further stressed that, \u201cif you look at the road safety regulations, it is stated that anybody who\u2019s supposed to use a vehicle for commercial purposes needs to be 25 and above.
