Former President John Dramani Mahama has reiterated his position that the poor management of the country under the leadership of Nana Akufo-Addo, has led to unprecedented levels of hardship in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mr. Mahama thus slammed the governing New Patriotic Party for suggesting that he\u2019s the one fueling a perception of hardship in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The NPP\u2019s Director of Communication, Yaw Buaben Asamoa, said at a news conference that the country is in a good state, and that President Akufo-Addo is working hard to increase productivity and improve livelihoods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He thus suggested that the former president is poisoning the minds of Ghanaians that times are hard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe are not frightened of John Mahama, we know he cannot manage the economy, so we can\u2019t let him poison your minds because if you\u2019re sitting your somewhere and they keep telling you it is bad, Ghana is hard, there is corruption, Ghana is hard; then sometimes, you think it\u2019s true. So we have to speak back.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But speaking at a meeting with heads of local churches in Wa as part of his \u2018Thank You Tour\u2019 of the Upper West Region, on Monday, August 23, 2021, Mr. Mahama questioned the \u201clogic\u201d of the governing party.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He thus charged the government to admit the difficulties Ghanaians are currently facing and find ways of alleviating those hardships.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cTimes are hard even though, the New Patriotic Party, NPP still insists times are not hard and that I am the one giving Ghanaians the impression that times are hard. This makes me wonder what kind of logic they have that Ghanaians cannot feel hardship unless I come and tell them.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
