{"id":28116,"date":"2021-08-29T19:53:19","date_gmt":"2021-08-29T19:53:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.kumasionlinegh.com\/?p=28116"},"modified":"2021-08-29T19:53:20","modified_gmt":"2021-08-29T19:53:20","slug":"one-person-feared-dead-in-crash-on-tema-motorway","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kumasionlinetv.com\/?p=28116","title":{"rendered":"One person feared dead in crash on Tema motorway"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>One person is feared dead after the vehicle he was travelling in from Accra to Tema skidded off the road and somersaulted several times, crashing into the median of the Accra-Tema motorway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The incident, which occurred around 9:30am on Sunday, August 29, 2021, was said to have happened when a motor rider crossed a speeding Hyundai Elantra saloon car with registration number GW 4296 -20.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/citinewsroom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/3E1B866A-DA13-4AD0-8081-F667BB28BB56.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-782041\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>An eyewitness said&nbsp;\u201cWe were at home, and we heard a loud sound coming from this side. So we rushed towards the direction of the sound to see what has happened.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cUpon arrival, we saw that this car has somersaulted. So we quickly rushed to the car to assist those on board. At the time, the driver was alive, but the passenger was bleeding profusely.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One of the eyewitnesses also said, \u201cI was home when I heard the noise, so I decided to come over to see what has happened. Upon getting here, I saw that the car has somersaulted. So we helped to turn the car over to enable us to save those we have been trapped in.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe driver was safe, but the passenger wasn\u2019t in a good shape and was bleeding badly.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/citinewsroom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/D7CBA099-466F-424B-89DC-27D2A88D481D.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-782042\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The Chief Inspector from the Airport MTTD, Moses Akapame, who was at the scene said victims have been taken to the 37 military hospital while the vehicle has since been towed to the airport police station for further investigations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>10 die, several others injured in accident on Accra-Cape Coast highway<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>This accident comes shortly after 10 persons were confirmed dead after two Yutong buses with registration numbers GN 4741-10 and GS 6262-19, collided head-on at Gomoa Mampong on the Accra-Cape Coast highway on Sunday, August 22, 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a similar accident,&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/citinewsroom.com\/2021\/08\/6-month-old-baby-8-others-die-in-crash-on-accra-kumasi-highway\/\">9 persons<\/a><\/strong>&nbsp;were also confirmed dead after a Sprinter Benz bus they were travelling on got involved in an accident on the Apedwa stretch of the Accra-Kumasi highway on Saturday, August 21, 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The deceased comprised 5 females and three males, including a 6-month-old baby.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All these add to the\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/citinewsroom.com\/2021\/05\/1000-persons-killed-in-road-crashes-from-january-to-april-2021-nrsa\/\">numerous accidents<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0that have occurred already this year and claimed many lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Send your news stories to\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:dannyboy744@gmail.com\">dannyboy744@gmail.com<\/a>\u00a0and via WhatsApp on +233 266777777<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>One person is feared dead after the vehicle he was travelling in from Accra to Tema skidded off the road and somersaulted several times, crashing into the median of the Accra-Tema motorway.
