{"id":28758,"date":"2021-09-09T12:34:38","date_gmt":"2021-09-09T12:34:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.kumasionlinegh.com\/?p=28758"},"modified":"2021-09-09T12:34:38","modified_gmt":"2021-09-09T12:34:38","slug":"youll-be-prosecuted-if-you-carry-out-concrete-works-on-roads-amoako-atta-to-developers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kumasionlinetv.com\/?p=28758","title":{"rendered":"You\u2019ll be prosecuted if you carry out concrete works on roads \u2013 Amoako-Atta to developers"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Minister of Roads and Highways, Kwasi Amoako-Atta, says developers whose activities destroy the country\u2019s road infrastructure will be arrested and prosecuted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This follows his directive to a group of workers putting up a four-storey building at North Legon to check their activities that are destroying a nearby road.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In an interview with the media after returning to the site on Wednesday, September 8, 2021, to inspect if the workers had complied with his directive, Mr. Amoako-Atta cautioned all developers nationwide to desist from such acts or face heavy sanctions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He added that wherever the act will happen, the person will be arrested and prosecuted for causing destruction to public property.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mr. Amoako-Atta however expressed his happiness that the developer at North Legon complied with his directive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI am happy with what I am seeing, but I want to use this opportunity to sound a strong warning to all developers anywhere in this country that nobody should attempt to carry out concrete works on the road.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWherever it happens, the person will immediately be arrested and prosecuted for causing destruction to public property.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/citinewsroom.com\/2020\/10\/road-minister-warns-against-illegal-construction-on-road-reservation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ministry<\/a>&nbsp;<\/strong>had earlier warned developers and individuals that all buildings erected within road reservations will soon be demolished.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the Ministry, developers must be cautious of where they acquire lands to put up structures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI want to serve a warning to all potential developers, particularly those who build along roads, that they should contact the Roads and Highway Authority because it is government land that they have trespassed.
