{"id":29160,"date":"2021-09-16T17:56:54","date_gmt":"2021-09-16T17:56:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.kumasionlinegh.com\/?p=29160"},"modified":"2021-09-16T17:56:55","modified_gmt":"2021-09-16T17:56:55","slug":"covid-19-ghs-to-begin-administering-moderna-vaccines-next-week","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kumasionlinetv.com\/?p=29160","title":{"rendered":"COVID-19: GHS to begin administering Moderna vaccines next week"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Ghana Health Service (GHS) will from next week start administering the&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/citinewsroom.com\/2021\/09\/ghana-takes-delivery-of-over-1-2-million-moderna-vaccines\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">1.2 million Moderna COVID-19 vaccines<\/a><\/strong>&nbsp;it received from the US government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the Service, training of its personnel on the use of the vaccine is expected to be completed this week across all 16 regions of the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Programme\u2019s Manager for the expanded programme on Immunization at the Ghana Health Service, Dr. Kwame Amponsa- Achiano in a Citi News interview said the next phase of the vaccination will cover all persons 18 years and above.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He added that a date for the commencement of the exercise will be announced later next week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Kwame Amponsa- Achiano also added that this phase will include the deployment of other available vaccines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe are holding training reps on the vaccine. We are also in discussion on the date for the commencement of the vaccination exercise. Once a date is chosen, it will be communicated to the public. Hopefully, getting to the latter part of next week, we should be able to continue our vaccination exercise.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe will do all the vaccines we have available.
