{"id":30258,"date":"2021-10-11T08:18:14","date_gmt":"2021-10-11T08:18:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.kumasionlinegh.com\/?p=30258"},"modified":"2021-10-11T08:18:17","modified_gmt":"2021-10-11T08:18:17","slug":"10-top-journalists-producers-named-in-image-smear-campaign-plot-against-bawumia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kumasionlinetv.com\/?p=30258","title":{"rendered":"10 top Journalists, Producers named in image smear campaign plot against Bawumia"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>The cover of about 10 top Ghanaian journalists who are being groomed to start an image smear campaign against Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has been blown.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the leaked conversation available to\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/mynewsgh.com%2C\/\">MyNewsGh.com,<\/a>\u00a0the journalists including some producers of popular political programmes are expected to target Akan-dominated areas and whip up the tribal and religious card in order to court disaffection for Dr Bawumia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The meeting was held last weekend at Bukas Restaurant at Osu in Accra where their anchorman who is fronting for another candidate in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Presidential hopeful, reportedly schooled the journalists and their producers on their modus operandi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThey want us to play the tribal and religious card and their main focus is to target Akan people\u201d, one of the journalists who sat through the meeting told MyNewsGh.com on condition of strict anonymity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2024 NPP Flagbearer race<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ahead of the polls, therefore, several persons including Minister of Agriculture Dr Owusu Afriyie Akoto, Trade and Industry Minister John Alan Kwadwo Kyeremanteng and former Energy Minister Boakye Kyeremateng Agyarko have expressed interest in succeeding the President to lead the NPP to the polls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Current Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia though credited for his contributions to the party\u2019s 2016 and 2020 victories, is yet to publicly confirm or deny his interest in taking over from his boss.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In October last year when asked about the issue on Kumas-based Pure Fm, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia indicated that his only focus is to help President Akufo-Addo to succeed as the future remains in God\u2019s hands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAdinkrah, my only job is to be Vice-President. As for the future, it is in God\u2019s hands.
