Rap star Kanye West has legally changed his name after his request was approved by a judge in Los Angeles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The 44-year-old rap star filed a petition last month to officially use his nickname, and a judge in Los Angeles approved his request on Monday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The \u201cStronger\u201d hitmaker \u2013 who split from his wife, Kim Kardashian West, earlier this year \u2013 explained to the judge that he was making the name change for personal reasons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Michelle Williams Court has now agreed to approve his request, according to Deadline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The outspoken rap star has used Ye in his Twitter handle for some time and he also gave the name to his 2018 album.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
What\u2019s more, Ye previously explained in a radio interview that his nickname is \u201cthe most commonly used word in the Bible\u201d, and said that in the Bible, it means \u201cyou\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The chart-topping star also asked to be known as Ye via a Twitter post in 2018.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He wrote on the micro-blogging platform at the time: \u201cThe being formally known as Kanye West. I am YE. (sic)\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Meanwhile, an insider recently revealed that Kim loves having the support of the rapper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The brunette beauty \u2013 who has North, eight, Saint, five, Chicago, three, and Psalm, two, with Ye \u2013 filed for divorce in February, but they\u2019ve subsequently remained friends and she\u2019s delighted that the rapper has been so supportive of her over recent months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A source explained: \u201cKim and Kanye are friends, but that\u2019s it. She is still moving forward with the divorce.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cShe loves having Kanye\u2019s support, though. They were not in a good place around the time Kim filed for divorce. She is so happy that things are better now. It\u2019s all very beneficial for the kids.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
