{"id":31119,"date":"2021-10-20T13:13:16","date_gmt":"2021-10-20T13:13:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.kumasionlinegh.com\/?p=31119"},"modified":"2021-10-20T13:13:19","modified_gmt":"2021-10-20T13:13:19","slug":"pokuase-bulk-supply-point-substation-to-be-inaugurated-today","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kumasionlinetv.com\/?p=31119","title":{"rendered":"Pokuase Bulk Supply Point substation to be inaugurated today"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>President Akufo-Addo will inaugurate the Pokuase Bulk Supply Point Substation on Wednesday, October 20, 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This substation has formally been handed over to the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) and the Ghana Grid Company (GRDICo) by the Millennium Development Authority (MiDA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Pokuase BSP, which is Ghana\u2019s largest power substation and fifth bulk supply point, was constructed at a total cost of US$64.7 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It comprises switchgear and control rooms for ECG and GRIDCo with a total of 580 Megavolt amperes (MVA) of power on-site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The project is under the Power Compact Two agreement signed between Ghana and the United States of America being supervised by the Millennium Development Authority (MiDA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is among a number of Millennium Challenge Compact (MCC)-funded interventions expected to fill a vital infrastructural gap and improve the distribution of electricity to support the financial and technical turnaround capabilities of ECG.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The completion of this project is expected to improve the power supply to the Greater Accra Region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is specifically expected to improve the quality and reliability of power supply in Legon, Pokuase, Nsawam, Kwabenya, and its environs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The region has currently been contending with intermittent power cuts and low voltage during peak hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><strong>Send your news stories to\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:dannyboy744@gmail.com\">dannyboy744@gmail.com<\/a>\u00a0and via WhatsApp on +233 266777777<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>President Akufo-Addo will inaugurate the Pokuase Bulk Supply Point Substation on Wednesday, October 20, 2021.
