{"id":31437,"date":"2021-10-26T12:43:58","date_gmt":"2021-10-26T12:43:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.kumasionlinegh.com\/?p=31437"},"modified":"2021-10-26T12:44:00","modified_gmt":"2021-10-26T12:44:00","slug":"medikal-granted-gh%c2%a2100000-bail-after-5-day-remand","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kumasionlinetv.com\/?p=31437","title":{"rendered":"Medikal granted GH\u00a2100,000 bail after 5-day remand"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Hiplife artiste, Samuel Frimpong, popularly known as Medikal, has been granted bail after five days on remand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He was granted bail to the tune of GH\u00a2100,000 with one surety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Medikal was remanded by a<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/citinewsroom.com\/2021\/10\/medikal-remanded-to-prison-custody-for-5-days\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">&nbsp;Circuit Court<\/a><\/strong>&nbsp;judge in Accra on October 22, 2021, for brandishing a weapon in a video found on social media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He was charged with the display of arms and ammunition but pleaded not guilty to the charge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The case has been adjourned to November 9, 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the hearing on Friday, October 22, 2021, counsel for Medikal prayed the court to grant his client bail as he is a law-abiding citizen and had family on standby to meet the bail conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But the prosecution opposed the plea, arguing that the individual rights of Medikal to bail are subservient to the community interest, which ought to be protected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He further argued that parts of the case are still under investigation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The court agreed with his argument and remanded the accused last week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Send your news stories to\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:dannyboy744@gmail.com\">dannyboy744@gmail.com<\/a>\u00a0and via WhatsApp on +233 266777777<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hiplife artiste, Samuel Frimpong, popularly known as Medikal, has been granted bail after five days on remand.
