{"id":34322,"date":"2021-12-17T18:17:34","date_gmt":"2021-12-17T18:17:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.kumasionlinegh.com\/?p=34322"},"modified":"2021-12-17T18:17:37","modified_gmt":"2021-12-17T18:17:37","slug":"85-of-green-ghana-project-trees-survived-report","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kumasionlinetv.com\/?p=34322","title":{"rendered":"85% of Green Ghana Project trees survived \u2013 Report"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>A report conducted by the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) on the 2021 Green Ghana Project, indicates that 85 percent of the over-five million seedlings planted are thriving according to Benito Owusu-Bio, Deputy Lands and Natural Resources Minister in charge of Forestry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At a press briefing in Accra, Mr. Owusu-Bio, indicated that his outfit, in collaboration with relevant stakeholders, is making sure the trees flourish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe were very pleased and happy when we were informed by the NIB that they on their own have done an independent assessment of the Green Ghana project.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThey have actually presented their report to us and I can say the report was very favourable. The report stated that 85 percent of what we planted survived. And for that, we must pat ourselves very well.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Green Ghana Project is aimed at restoring Ghana\u2019s depleted forest cover through tree planting. It is also to reduce the impact of climate change on Ghana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>GH\u00a212,796,615 was used to procure over five million trees including fruits and ornamentals that were planted across the country during the first round of planting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The initiative, after its launch on Friday, June 11, 2021, saw many top government officials and members of the public plant trees in their homes, schools, and other designated areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is expected to be commemorated on June 11 every year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The government will be launching the \u2018Visit Your Tree\u2019 campaign as part of activities to mark six months since the rollout of the 2021 Green Ghana Project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Send your news stories to\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:dannyboy744@gmail.com\">dannyboy744@gmail.com<\/a>\u00a0and via WhatsApp on +233 266777777<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A report conducted by the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) on the 2021 Green Ghana Project, indicates that 85 percent of the over-five million seedlings planted are thriving according to Benito Owusu-Bio, Deputy Lands and Natural Resources Minister in charge of Forestry.
