The Ghana’s national football team, the Black Stars, on Monday night lost 0-1 to the national team of Morocco, the Atlas Lions, and the captain of the Black Star has revealed that he was sick but other players insisted he must be on the pitch to play in the energy-sapping encounter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Captain of the Black Stars, Andr\u00e9 Dede Ayew, who also plays for the national team alongside his brother, Jordan Pierre Ayew, and who are both sons of another Ghana legend, Abedi Pele Ayew, disclosed after the team lost its opening match in Group C to Morocco that he was not feeling well for the past two days before the match.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He however said despite his sickness, the other players insisted that he must be on the pitch in order to motivate them but his low performance and the injury he sustained during the match were part of why the team lost to the Atlas Lions of Morocco.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The captain of the Ghanaian national team spoke with the Ghana News Agency (GNA), the online news agency of the Ghanaian government, shortly after the team lost in the match that was played on Monday evening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to him: “I’ve not been feeling well for the past two days. My colleagues wanted me on the field so as to motivate them, so I did everything to be there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt’s football and we are disappointed to concede in the last minute,” he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Captain of the side picked up an injury in the match and hoping to be fully fit for the clash against Gabon on Friday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ghana is currently at the bottom of Group C and would need to win in the remaining two matches in order to progress to the next stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
