{"id":34814,"date":"2022-01-17T17:45:26","date_gmt":"2022-01-17T17:45:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.kumasionlinegh.com\/?p=34814"},"modified":"2022-01-17T17:45:29","modified_gmt":"2022-01-17T17:45:29","slug":"fuel-price-hikes-were-yet-to-decide-next-line-of-action-gprtu","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kumasionlinetv.com\/?p=34814","title":{"rendered":"Fuel price hikes: We\u2019re yet to decide next line of action \u2013 GPRTU"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU) says it is engaging various transport operators on their next line of action due to the government\u2019s failure in stabilising fuel prices in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fuel prices have hit the projected&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/max%20news\/\">GH\u00a27 per litre mark<\/a>&nbsp;<\/strong>on Sunday, January 16, 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In an interview with the Industrial Relations Officer of GPRTU, Abass Imoro, said stakeholders are yet to take a decision on the matter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He urged drivers to be patient, as the outcome of the stakeholder meetings will be announced soon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Institute for Energy Security (IES), had earlier predicted a GH\u00a27 per litre of fuel in the second pricing window of this month, January.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fuel prices per litre at most pumps around the country prior to the recent increase dropped to around GH\u00a2 6.50 on average in the past few weeks, and subsequently rose to reach an average of Gh\u00a26.70 at most pumps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Checks &nbsp;as of 9:00pm on Sunday, January 16, 2022, showed that while a litre of petrol and diesel was going for Gh\u00a2 6.50 at Goil, Shell was selling both at GH\u00a2 6.80.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Total, however, was selling a litre of petrol at GH\u00a26.99 and a litre of diesel at GH\u00a27.05.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Already, various transport operators, including the concerned drivers association of&nbsp; Ghana,&nbsp;have continually lamented recent increases in fuel prices, indicating that it is having dire consequences on their business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They earlier threatened to increase transport fares by 40% as a result, but later backed down on the threat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Send your news stories to\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:dannyboy744@gmail.com\">dannyboy744@gmail.com<\/a>\u00a0and via WhatsApp on +233 266777777<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU) says it is engaging various transport operators on their next line of action due to the government\u2019s failure in stabilising fuel prices in the country.
