{"id":35277,"date":"2022-02-04T11:22:12","date_gmt":"2022-02-04T11:22:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.kumasionlinegh.com\/?p=35277"},"modified":"2022-02-04T11:22:15","modified_gmt":"2022-02-04T11:22:15","slug":"sekondi-takoradi-mce-faces-court-today-for-dangerous-driving-alleged-assault-of-police-officer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kumasionlinetv.com\/?p=35277","title":{"rendered":"Sekondi-Takoradi MCE faces court today for dangerous driving, alleged assault of police officer"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.kumasionlinegh.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/download-7.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-35280\" width=\"824\" height=\"571\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.kumasionlinetv.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/download-7.jpg 270w, https:\/\/www.kumasionlinetv.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/download-7-150x105.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 824px) 100vw, 824px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The Metropolitan Chief Executive for Sekondi -Takoradi, Abdul Mumin Issah, will be&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/citinewsroom.com\/2022\/02\/sekondi-takoradi-mce-arrested-for-dangerous-driving-alleged-assault-of-police-officer\/\">put before court<\/a><\/strong>&nbsp;today, Friday February 4, 2022 for an alleged motor traffic offence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mr. Issah was on Thursday arrested by the Western Regional Police Command for an alleged motor traffic offence, verbal assault and offensive conduct against a police officer who was performing his lawful duty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He was subsequently charged on three (3) counts of Assault of a public officer, Offensive conduct conducive to breaches of peace and disturbing the peace in a public place contrary to Sections 205, 207 and 298 respectively, of the Criminal and Other Offences Act of 1960, Act 29.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The MCE, who was driving a Toyota Land-cruiser with registration number GE 5615-20 is alleged to have driven dangerously and carelessly while approaching a police snap check point close to the Kwesimintsim Cemetery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When one of the police officers on duty attempted to stop him, he verbally assaulted and threatened him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c\u201cYou are stupid, you ugly policeman, you say a whole police officer, you are nothing. Don\u2019t worry, let him play his King Kong thing, I have exercised patience for you to call whoever is coming, I could just pass by and there is nothing he can do. If I decide to pass by what else can you do,\u201d Mr. Issah said in a viral audio of the said altercation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIf you had acted otherwise, I would have beaten you to death,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Policeman during the altercation was heard saying that he was a professional who will not insult him back, but would ensure that he faced the law for driving dangerously and putting his life at risk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The MCE, a known personality in the metropolis, served as NPP Chairman for the Takoradi Constituency for a long time before he was appointed following the death of the former MCE K.K.
