{"id":35919,"date":"2022-02-24T12:04:47","date_gmt":"2022-02-24T12:04:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.kumasionlinegh.com\/?p=35919"},"modified":"2022-02-24T12:04:51","modified_gmt":"2022-02-24T12:04:51","slug":"im-not-aware-adwoa-safo-wants-my-job-as-deputy-majority-leader-afenyo-markin","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kumasionlinetv.com\/?p=35919","title":{"rendered":"I\u2019m not aware Adwoa Safo wants my job as Deputy Majority Leader \u2013 Afenyo-Markin"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Deputy Majority Leader, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, says he is not aware Dome Kwabenya MP Sarah Adwoa Safo is asking for his job in Parliamentary Leadership as a condition for her return to the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Dome Kwabenya MP has been in the US since the House resumed sittings this year hampering efforts of the Majority to push through the controversial E-Levy which has been widely criticised.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>MP for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyepong, had disclosed that Adwoa Safo is allegedly sabotaging the government because she was not made Deputy Majority Leader.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But speaking on PM Express with Evans Mensah, the Effutu MP said he had not heard that Adwoa Safo wants his job.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWhere is your Dome Kwabenya MP, Adwoa Safo\u201d, Evans Mensah asked. \u201cI\u2019m not discussing her\u201d, Afenyo-Markin retorted on\u00a0<strong>JoyNews<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When the host quizzed further about why the E-levy bill has not currently been tabled before Parliament, and whether that had anything to do with the absence of the Dome Kwabenya MP, Afenyo-Markin answered that the government was still engaging.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As to whether this engagement includes Adwoa Safo, Mr Afenyo-Markin said, \u201cwe are engaging\u201d, a response he repeated until Evans Mensah asked if he had heard about Kennedy Agyapong\u2019s claims.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t want to comment on that matter, I haven\u2019t heard about it and I\u2019m not supposed to hear about everything.\u201d the Effutu MP answered on Wednesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sarah Adwoa Safo served as Deputy Majority Leader between 2017 and 2021 but was replaced by Alexander Afenyo-Markin when the NPP retained its majority in parliament by a slender margin bolstered by an independent MP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The absence of the Dome Kwabenya MP is said to be seriously affecting the majority side and its ability to do government business in the house, particularly the e-levy which has not been officially tabled since last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Send your news stories to\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:dannyboy744@gmail.com\">dannyboy744@gmail.com<\/a>\u00a0and via WhatsApp on +233 266777777<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Deputy Majority Leader, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, says he is not aware Dome Kwabenya MP Sarah Adwoa Safo is asking for his job in Parliamentary Leadership as a condition for her return to the country.
