{"id":39047,"date":"2022-05-20T10:59:18","date_gmt":"2022-05-20T10:59:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.kumasionlinegh.com\/?p=39047"},"modified":"2022-05-20T10:59:21","modified_gmt":"2022-05-20T10:59:21","slug":"female-referees-to-officiate-at-mens-world-cup-for-first-time-in-qatar","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kumasionlinetv.com\/?p=39047","title":{"rendered":"Female Referees To Officiate At Men\u2019s World Cup For First Time In Qatar"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Female referees will officiate matches at this year\u2019s men\u2019s World Cup for the first time in the tournament\u2019s history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>France\u2019s Stephanie Frappart, Rwanda\u2019s Salima Mukansanga and Japan\u2019s Yoshimi Yamashita have been selected to take charge of games in Qatar.<br>&nbsp;<br>They will be supported by three female assistant referees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Premier League referees Michael Oliver and Anthony Taylor have also been chosen for the tournament, which begins on Monday, 21 November.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Taylor refereed the Euro 2020 match between Denmark and Finland, and was praised for reacting quickly to ensure Christian Eriksen received urgent medical attention after collapsing on the field.<br>&nbsp;<br>In total, 36 referees, 69 assistant referees and 24 video match officials have been chosen for this year\u2019s tournament.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAs always, the criteria we have used is \u2018quality first\u2019 and the selected match officials represent the highest level of refereeing worldwide,\u201d said the chairman of Fifa\u2019s referees committee Pierluigi Collina.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis concludes a long process that began several years ago with the deployment of female referees at Fifa men\u2019s junior and senior tournaments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIn this way, we clearly emphasise it is quality that counts for us and not gender.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI would hope that in the future, the selection of elite women\u2019s match officials for important men\u2019s competitions will be perceived as something normal and no longer as sensational.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Source: GNA<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>SEND A STORY:<\/strong>\u00a0Do you have a story for us or need a promotion\/advertisement?
