{"id":39857,"date":"2022-05-31T13:40:24","date_gmt":"2022-05-31T13:40:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.kumasionlinegh.com\/?p=39857"},"modified":"2022-05-31T13:40:26","modified_gmt":"2022-05-31T13:40:26","slug":"boy-killed-by-lightning-strike-left-in-the-open-over-fear-of-thunder-god","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kumasionlinetv.com\/?p=39857","title":{"rendered":"Boy killed by lightning strike left in the open over fear of \u2018thunder god\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The body of a 17-year-old boy believed to have been struck by lightning in Ho in the Volta Region on Monday has been left in the open over fear of angering a thunder god.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Emmanuel Doli and two others were struck by lightning during a downpour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The two other victims who were rushed to the hospital are responding to treatment, but the dead body still lies in the open.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When\u00a0<strong>Citi News<\/strong>\u00a0visited the scene on Tuesday, the body was covered with some plantain leaves.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/citinewsroom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/batch_Body-of-boy-struck-by-lightening-1.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-855682\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>The boy, identified as Emmanuel Doli, a former student of the Sokode Senior High Technical School, was left there on Monday as fear has gripped residents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The mother of the deceased boy, Rejoice Kwao, who couldn\u2019t control her tears, narrated how she heard about her son\u2019s death.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThey have been selling coconut for some time now. But today I was at work when I received a call about lightning striking my son. I came here only to see the boy on the floor lifeless. My brother takes care of coconuts for people, so they pluck from him also.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cBut I don\u2019t know what happened here. There has never been a problem in his selling.
