Former President, John Dramani Mahama\u2019s recent comment about the judiciary and the need for a change in the leadership of the judiciary has received a lot of massive reactions from top lawyers, political figures, and Ghanaians in general. Mahama claimed that this current administration, led by Nana Addo, is the number one administration to appoint based on political colors, and the highest number of judges in our various courts. Mahama accused the government of packing out courts with \u201cpolitically partisan judges\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A vice Presidential Staffer, Krobea Kwabena Asante, for the past one or two days, has been descending and slamming the Former President for every statement he made on that day. Today, he tackled the aspect where the Former President accused Nana Addo of appointing the highest number of NPP judges into the judiciary. He wrote; Here is something I\u2019ve been wondering about after I listened to John Mahama\u2019s organized hypocrisy of accusing the current regime of packing the courts with politically partisan judges. John Mahama was not able to give just 4 names of such judges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to Krobea, Mahama has not and will not be able to point out just 4 judges appointed by Nana Addo, who has an affiliation with the ruling New Patriotic Party. However, when we take a look at the judges appointed when Mahama was President, we will realize that he is the worse offender of political colorization. Two judges appointed by Mahama had relations with the PNDC or PNC; Gabriel Scott Pwamang and Justice Apau.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cDidn\u2019t he nominate Gabriel Scott Pwamang who was an MP for PNC and also General Secretary of PNC to the apex court? Was that not part of the political colorization? To rhyme with the above example, did John not send Justice Apau to the same court? Was he not a cadre and a (deputy minister\/secretary) under PNDC?\u201d, he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
