{"id":47102,"date":"2022-08-31T07:14:06","date_gmt":"2022-08-31T07:14:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.kumasionlinegh.com\/?p=47102"},"modified":"2022-08-31T07:14:12","modified_gmt":"2022-08-31T07:14:12","slug":"ecgs-important-message-to-ghanaians-as-new-tariff-takes-effect-from-september-1","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kumasionlinetv.com\/?p=47102","title":{"rendered":"ECG\u2019s important message to Ghanaians as new tariff takes effect from September 1"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Electricity Company Ghana (ECG) has assured customers and stakeholders of its commitment to ensure a smooth implementation of the new tariff effective September 1, 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this regard, ECG in a release, signed by the Managing Director, Samuel Mahama, entreated customers \u201cto take charge of their personal consumption by conserving energy which will lead to spending less on electricity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe Electricity Company of Ghana wishes to inform our cherished customers and stakeholders that it will implement the PURC-approved major tariff review, which was announced on 15th August, 2022, with effect from Thursday, 1st September 2022,\u201d a portion of the release stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to ECG, \u201cthe average percentage increase is on energy consumption only, therefore the addition of statutory levies and other fixed charges will increase the average percentage announced by the PURC.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/ECG-release.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/ECG-release.jpg\" alt=\"We are committed to ensuring smooth implementation of new tariff effective September 1 - ECG\" class=\"wp-image-10032162041\" title=\"We are committed to ensuring smooth implementation of new tariff effective September 1 - ECG\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIn effect, individual customers\u2019 tariff percentage increase will depend on customer classification and consumption category,\u201d the release added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The release further stated that exclusive lifeline beneficiaries\u2019 consumption has been pegged at 30kWh, according to the new bands for residential customers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, ECG has established customer help desks in all its district and customer service centers to assist, explain and reconcile any challenge experienced by customers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>SEND A STORY:<\/strong>\u00a0Do you have a story for us or need a promotion \/ advertisement?
