{"id":48406,"date":"2022-09-14T18:40:55","date_gmt":"2022-09-14T18:40:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.kumasionlinegh.com\/?p=48406"},"modified":"2022-09-14T18:40:59","modified_gmt":"2022-09-14T18:40:59","slug":"im-not-still-sure-aisha-huang-was-infact-deported-president-akufo-addo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kumasionlinetv.com\/?p=48406","title":{"rendered":"I\u2019m not still sure Aisha Huang was infact deported \u2013 President Akufo-Addo"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u201cI\u2019m not still sure whether she (Aisha Huang) was in fact deported or whether she fled the country the first time, and has now come back\u201d, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has said.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In a radio interview with\u00a0<em>Stone City<\/em>\u00a0in the Volta Region on Monday (September 12, 2022), President Akufo-Addo said, \u201c\u2026but whatever, there still seem to be some uncertainty about it, but whichever way it is, she has become some sort of nickname for all that galamsey represents and unfortunately, for the involvement of Chinese nationals in Ghana.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/web.facebook.com\/watch\/?v=1228670094370484\">https:\/\/web.facebook.com\/watch\/?v=1228670094370484<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<div class=\"twitter-tweet\"><blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-lang=\"en\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">I\u2019m not sure Aisha Huang was really deported &#8211; President Akufo-Addo <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/0T2QUXp5eN\">pic.twitter.com\/0T2QUXp5eN<\/a><\/p>&mdash; DailyGraphic GraphicOnline (@Graphicgh) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Graphicgh\/status\/1569657591831351296?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">September 13, 2022<\/a><\/blockquote><\/div>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>President Akufo-Addo was speaking in reference to En Huang,&nbsp;a Chinese national, popularly known as Aisha Huang, said to be involved in a number of illegal mining [galamsey] activities in Ghana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She was arrested in the past on many occasions for engaging in illegal mining and ended up being released on a number of occasions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The last time she was arrested in 2017\/2018, she was arraigned but escaped prosecution as a result of the filing of a nolle prosequi by the prosecution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Subsequently, she was deported to her home country, China, in December 2018.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It has just emerged in the last two weeks that, she is back in Ghana and has again been arrested for engaging in illegal mining.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She has been accused of sneaking into the country with a new new \u2013 Ruixia Huang, and a new Chinese passport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She&nbsp;has been arraigned at an Accra Circuit Court with some other accomplices and has been remanded in police custody.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Attorney-General and Minister of Justice has called for the docket and promised to prosecute her for the first offences prior to 2018 in addition to the new one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>President&nbsp;Akufo-Addo is this week&nbsp;in the Volta Region for a tour to inspect ongoing projects and commission completed ones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As usual, wherever he goes on his regional tours, he grants a radio interview and answer questions bothering on local and national issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So when on Monday afternoon, the issue of the Chinese national En \u201cAisha\u201d Huang&nbsp;came up in the radio interview with&nbsp;<em>Stone City<\/em>, the President answered and raised doubts about the nature of the deportation.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Flashback<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In September 2019, President Akufo-Addo stated that the government\u2019s decision to deport Chinese national, Aisha Huang who was facing three counts of undertaking small-scale mining operations was a mistake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The President was responding to a question from a Ghanaian resident in the US state of Colorado at a Princeton University forum during his visit to the United States of America. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Writer\u2019s email:\u00a0This email address is being protected from spambots.
