{"id":48492,"date":"2022-09-15T07:38:00","date_gmt":"2022-09-15T07:38:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.kumasionlinegh.com\/?p=48492"},"modified":"2022-09-15T07:38:05","modified_gmt":"2022-09-15T07:38:05","slug":"mahama-cannot-review-ex-gratia-payments-he-loves-them-npp","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kumasionlinetv.com\/?p=48492","title":{"rendered":"Mahama cannot review ex-gratia payments; he loves them \u2013 NPP"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The New Patriotic Party (NPP) says former President John Dramani Mahama\u2019s promise to tackle issues of ex-gratia payments cannot be taken seriously.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The party said he failed Ghanaians on the matter when he was the president of the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Addressing a news conference in Accra on Wednesday, September 14, Mr Richard Ahiagbah, Director of Communications for the NPP, said the former president loves the benefits.Richard Ahiagbah, Director of Communications for NPP<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mr Ahiagbah questioned why Mr Mahama did not review the law during his tenure as President, accusing him of failing to implement the recommendations of the Constitution Review Commission in 2012.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWhat former President Mahama is saying today cannot be taken seriously because he has already failed Ghanaians on this matter,\u201d he said.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He thus challenged Mr Mahama to return all benefits he had received under Article 71 to justify his \u201cseriousness\u201d about reviewing the law.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, he also denied claims by former President Mahama that the Akufo-Addo government has denied him his benefits as a former statesman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe former President has told blatant lies.
