The government has pledged to continue with the objective of protecting investors\u2019 interests in the financial sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In reaction to a publication that 94% of Tier 2 pension investments in government securities to be affected by a probable debt restructuring, it said the Government of Ghana since 2017, has always protected investors\u2019 interests in the financial sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cFor the avoidance of doubt, it must be recalled that the Government of Ghana since 2017, has always protected investors\u2019 interests in the financial sector. Government will continue with this objective and ensure that investors\u2019 best interests are upheld at all times\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThese publications and \u201csocial media advisories\u201d are without merit and are designed to undermine confidence in Ghana\u2019s financial sector. Indeed, they rather contribute to pressures on the currency and undermine investor confidence\u201d, it said in a statement published on the Ministry of Finance website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It continued that government\u2019s engagements with the International Monetary Fund, both in Accra and in Washington D.C., on a programme to restore macro-economic stability, are progressing steadily, adding, the Post-Covid Economic Growth Programme is designed to bring growth, stability, and relief to our country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
