Member of Parliament (MP) for Wa Central, Dr Rashid Pelpuo has cautioned Ghanaians against falling for flowery speeches during electioneering campaigns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He says the Akufo-Addo\/Bawumia administration have served a bitter pill to Ghanaians after they hoodwinked the electorates with their oratory and empty rhetoric.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWhen citizens repose power and confidence on a person because of his or her power over language delivery without checking on their faith in what they say, the citizens will be cursing their souls with time. Always go beyond rhetoric. Lesson from Ghana,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dr Rashid Pelpuo wrote the above on his twitter page in reaction to recent developments in the country with regards to the state of the economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ghana is currently experiencing an economic crunch with rising debt levels, inflation hovering around 37 percent coupled with the country\u2019s currency crumbling against the major foreign exchange.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
While the government is in talks with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for a bailout, pressure is also mounting on President Akufo-Addo to sack his Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, who many have blamed for the difficulties in the economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At least 80 Majority MPs from the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) have demanded for the ousting of Mr Ofori-Atta, but the President says he will consider their demands after the IMF negotiations have been concluded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
