The National Conference of Principals of Colleges of Education (PRINCOF) has written to seek the permission of the Minister of Education for teacher trainees to start to fend for themselves.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to PRINCOF, the current market trends, coupled with indebtedness to suppliers, is making it unbearable for the Colleges to provide three-square meals for the trainees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIn the light of the above, it is the wish of PRINCOF to be given permission to ask students to start fending for themselves,\u201d a letter signed by Dr Harriet Naki Amui, the Executive Secretary of PRINCOF, to Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It added that failure of the Minister of Education to grant the permission could lead to disruption of the already stretched academic year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The letter had also complained about the turning down of a request for an upward review of the feeding grants paid by the trainees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The principals, therefore, want the permission to be granted for implementation from Monday, November 7.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
