Nana Akufo-Addo, on Sunday evening, entered the homes of Ghanaians uninvited with his famous greeting, \u201cfellow Ghanaians\u201d, to address the nation on the economy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
For the past few months, we have seen the cedi ridiculously depreciate against the dollar, coupled with an unreasonable high price of goods in the market. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Due to the woes of the economy and legit complaints by the citizens, it was only fair for the president to address the nation on these economic issues. However, the President\u2019s speech was a far-fetched cliche. Most Ghanaians before the speech knew what to expect; play the blame game. Blame everything but their unnecessary spending of the public purse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In his series of posts on Twitter, he tweeted the statement, \u201cIf you talk down your money, it will go down. If you allow some unidentifiable person to talk down your money, it will go down.\u201d Social media users gave their interpretation of this statement. Most users interpreted his statement as saying words of affirmation to the cedi. Connoting if one says words of encouragement to the cedi, it will rise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
