{"id":54834,"date":"2022-11-12T08:17:16","date_gmt":"2022-11-12T08:17:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.kumasionlinegh.com\/?p=54834"},"modified":"2022-11-12T08:17:21","modified_gmt":"2022-11-12T08:17:21","slug":"election-of-ndcs-youth-and-womens-organiser-put-on-hold-in-ashanti-region","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kumasionlinetv.com\/?p=54834","title":{"rendered":"<strong>Election of NDC\u2019s Youth and Women\u2019s organiser put on hold in Ashanti region<\/strong>"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has called off the election of Youth and Women\u2019s Organizer executives in the Ashanti Region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The election scheduled to take place at the Republic Hall, KNUST, was opposed by a group of aspirants who claim the delegates\u2019 list had been manipulated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The group led by Emmanuel Atanga, an aspirant vying for Deputy Youth Organiser, described the 47 delegates\u2019 list as fradulent and undeserving to serve its purpose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The aggrieved group petitioned the National Executives of the party, which led to the set up of a three-member committee to authenticate the issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The committee after nvestigation came out with a delegates\u2019 album of 34.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The group however says this did not meet expectation, claiming some institutions were not qualified to exercise their franchise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Leadership of the Party, as at 6pm on Friday held a crunch meeting including other stakeholders but entrench positions defeated their agenda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The chairman of the election committee, Nuru Hamidan, said they are meeting all the aspirants at the regional party office on Saturday to resolve outstanding issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to him, the meeting will determine if they will cast their ballot on Sunday or the election will be further postponed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Delegates from far and near expressed disappointment over the development as they left the election ground without voting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis is not the NDC I know,\u201d,one of the aggrieved delegates said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe are sending a message to the rank and file of the party that it doesn\u2019t look so well in the Ashanti Region and with this I fear we will lose in 2024,\u201d another said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some top party officials and individuals were seen engaging all aggrieved parties to resolve the issue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>SEND A STORY:<\/strong>\u00a0Do you have a story for us or need a promotion\/advertisement?
