{"id":56602,"date":"2022-11-30T07:25:48","date_gmt":"2022-11-30T07:25:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.kumasionlinegh.com\/?p=56602"},"modified":"2022-11-30T07:26:34","modified_gmt":"2022-11-30T07:26:34","slug":"junior-doctors-back-embattled-manhyia-district-hospital-doc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kumasionlinetv.com\/?p=56602","title":{"rendered":"<strong>Junior doctors back embattled Manhyia District Hospital doc<\/strong>"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Junior Doctors\u2019 Association, Ghana has backed the Manhyia District Hospital doctor, whose dad had a heated conversation on phone with a nurse at the facility.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The phone conversation, which has since been leaked, finds the doctor\u2019s father, Alex Opoku-Mensah, who doubles as the Ashanti Region Director of the National Service Scheme (NSS), apparently insulting the nurse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Ashanti Region branch of the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/3news.com\/tag\/ghana-registered-nurses-and-midwives-association\/\">Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA) on Tuesday, November 29 issued a statement calling for the dismissal of Mr Opoku-Mensah, who has since apologised for the altercation.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But weighing into the issues, junior doctors insist there was no wrongdoing on the part of the doctor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWhile we do not condone the actions of the father, it is imperative to set the records straight on the falsehood being peddled to bring the professional competence of the doctor into disrepute,\u201d a statement issued on Tuesday said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jointly signed by President of the Junior Doctors\u2019 Association, Ghana Dr Louisa A. Nkrumah and Secretary Dr Norbert Kipo, the statement said the information put out there about the doctor and her alleged wrong prescription \u201cis untrue, according to the hospital management&nbsp; and records available\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe, therefore, entreat all media houses to pull down their broadcast concerning the alleged wrong prescription of medication and entreat the general public to disregard such allegations against the doctor.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It insists doctors and nurses have had a cordial working relationship and \u201cwe will continue to work as a team to provide quality healthcare to our cherished clients and the people of Ghana at large\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>SEND A STORY:<\/strong>\u00a0Do you have a story for us or need a promotion \/ advertisement?
