{"id":57848,"date":"2022-12-14T08:09:34","date_gmt":"2022-12-14T08:09:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.kumasionlinegh.com\/?p=57848"},"modified":"2022-12-14T08:09:39","modified_gmt":"2022-12-14T08:09:39","slug":"megan-thee-stallion-testifies-tory-lanez-shot-her","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kumasionlinetv.com\/?p=57848","title":{"rendered":"Megan Thee Stallion testifies Tory Lanez shot her"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Megan Thee Stallion has described in emotional courtroom testimony her \u201cshock\u201d as fellow rapper Tory Lanez allegedly opened fire on her.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI can\u2019t believe I have to come here and do this,\u201d she told a jury in Los Angeles .<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Grammy-winning rapper said she was shot in the feet after leaving a pool party at Kylie Jenner\u2019s house.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jurors heard she insulted the accused and demanded to be let out of a luxury car before he fired five rounds at her.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The rapper, whose real name is Megan Pete, 27, testified that her alleged attacker became enraged after she disparaged his musical talent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She said the 30-year-old defendant, whose real name is Daystar Peterson, had told her to \u201cdance\u201d before opening fire in the incident in the Hollywood Hills on 12 July 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m in shock. I\u2019m scared. I hear the gun going off, and I can\u2019t believe he\u2019s shooting at me,\u201d she told the court on Tuesday, the second day of the trial, according to the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.latimes.com\/california\/story\/2022-12-13\/megan-thee-stallion-takes-the-stand-in-torey-lanez-trial\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">LA Times<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mr Peterson denies multiple gun and assault charges relating to a dispute with the Savage artist. If found guilty, he faces up to 23 years in prison.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ichef.bbci.co.uk\/news\/976\/cpsprodpb\/11211\/production\/_127516107_gettyimages-1428717480.jpg\" alt=\"Tory Lanez attends Sorry For What Event on September 28, 2022 in New York City.\" width=\"725\" height=\"408\" title=\"Megan Thee Stallion testifies Tory Lanez shot her\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Tory Lanez has denied shooting Megan after the party<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The WAP rapper left a trail of blood at the scene, before getting back into the vehicle, which was stopped minutes later by police.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A gun that was still warm to the touch was found on the floor near where Mr Peterson had been sitting, prosecutor Alexander Bott said in his opening statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Megan Thee Stallion testified that the Canadian hip-hop artist had offered her $1m to keep quiet about the attack because he claimed to be on probation for a weapons offence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She initially said to police that she had cut her feet on glass.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But she told the court she had lied because of concerns about how the police would react, especially amid nationwide racial justice unrest in the summer of 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAt the time, we are at the height of police brutality,\u201d she testified, \u201cI felt like if I said this man has just shot me, they might shoot first and ask questions later.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Minutes after the shooting, a female friend who was in the car texted Megan Thee Stallion\u2019s security detail, saying: \u201cHelp\u2026 Tory shot meg.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Several bullet fragments were&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/news\/newsbeat-61799446\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">removed<\/a>&nbsp;from her feet, but some remain and she told investigating officers that she had difficulty walking in certain shoes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a later phone call, Mr Peterson \u201cprofusely apologised for his actions\u201d and claimed he was \u201cjust too drunk\u201d, prosecutors said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>His lawyer, George Mgdesyan, said the jury needed to keep an open mind and he would prove the accusations were lies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The trial continues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>SEND A STORY:<\/strong>\u00a0Do you have a story for us or need a promotion \/ advertisement?
