{"id":59453,"date":"2022-12-24T23:44:41","date_gmt":"2022-12-24T23:44:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.kumasionlinegh.com\/?p=59453"},"modified":"2022-12-24T23:44:44","modified_gmt":"2022-12-24T23:44:44","slug":"charles-bissue-wants-court-to-stop-special-prosecutor-from-investigating-him","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kumasionlinetv.com\/?p=59453","title":{"rendered":"<strong>Charles Bissue wants court to stop Special Prosecutor from investigating him<\/strong>"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The former Secretary of the defunct Inter-Ministerial Committee on Illegal Mining (IMCIM) wants the court to prevent the Office of the Special Prosecutor from investigating him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Charles Bissue has secured an injunction at an Accra High Court seeking to do so.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On October 10, Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng started investigating some public officials over their alleged involvement in illegal mining (galamsey).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The investigation targeted some officials of the Lands Ministry, the Forestry Commission, and the dissolved Inter-Ministerial Committee on Illegal Mining (IMCIM).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The OSP said the inquiry will also span allegations of use of public office for profit against Charles Bissue during his tenure as secretary to the IMCIM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is based on an investigative documentary by Tiger Eye P.I.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, the New Patriotic Party member is seeking to end it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a writ dated December 23, the court ordered the interlocutory injunction pending the determination of the suit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>SEND A STORY:<\/strong>\u00a0Do you have a story for us or need a promotion \/ advertisement?
