Former President John Rawlings has said he wouldn\u2019t have apologized for his personal attacks on former Presidents Kufuor and Mahama over comments he made describing them as a evil and a rogue respectively.<\/p>\n
MyNewsGH.com serialized a series of talks Mr. Rawlings gave when he received a delegation from the Volta Region led by \u2018Baby with Sharp teeth\u2019 and NDC MP for North Tongu Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa.<\/p>\n
We reported Rawlings word for word; about how the NDC has abandoned the Volta Region even after the region has shown the party loyalty, bemoaning that Volta Region has nothing to show for its loyalty to the NDC.<\/p>\n
He also called Mr Mahama, his party party member and former President a rogue; while insisting former President Kufuor is evil.<\/p>\n
MyNewsGH.com also reported that Mr Rawlings categorically said should Mr Mahama or Kufuor make it to Heaven too, he would be disappointed- and not just that- but that he will ask for permission to lash them, failure of which he will gladly move to hell to cohabit with Satan than the \u2018evil,rogue\u2019 duo.<\/p>\n
His office has since issued a public apology over the comments.<\/p>\n
But speaking on the 2nd Rawlings Revolutionary Lecturer series yesterday, Mr Rawlings said his apology was forced out of him by babies with Sharp teeth.<\/p>\n
Originally not billed to speak, Mr Rawlings almost on impulse, without being invited to the dais, walked there, grabbed the mic and started talking in response to a question.<\/p>\n
Rawlings said:<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m not the one who is bastardising the truth, it\u2019s the young generation you are talking about, the ones with the sharp teeth, if they who are much younger hadn\u2019t bastardised the truth, there probably wouldn\u2019t be the need for an apology\u201d he boomed.<\/p>\n
\u201cI have so much on my chest, and you misrepresent me, you bastardise the truth, and people wonder, is this man crazy, and I have to apologise. It\u2019s not over, I\u2019m just giving you an example of what your generation is doing. What a misrepresentation, isn\u2019t it sad?\u201d He added.<\/p>\n
On revolution, he said:<\/p>\n
\u201cWhat\u2019s a revolution? A revolution is an explosion against a system that exceeded it, so you don\u2019t expect that system to love the revolt, they will do everything to dismantle it, just like they attempted to destroy the revolution, today or tomorrow, it will continue in very cunning ways\u201d.<\/p>\n
On his issues with Mahama, he (Rawlings) gave a synopsis of an incident,<\/p>\n
\u201cAs a small boy, I remember my granny used to talk about, it\u2019s unfortunate but how people used to stir banku, prepare some hot water with salt and they could use it as soup, you dip the banku in the water and eat, I never thought this kind of poverty would still be found in my country. When I heard the Member of Parliament campaigning around the river area where I stay, I was talking about this kind of impoverishment, poverty, which is just not right that people should still be eating this kind of thing. Not long after, a gentleman, Mr. Klutse, discovered an attempt at some huge plantation by Ghadaffi\u2019s people, somehow it didn\u2019t work out and the land had been left and abandoned, he got in touch with me, I said let\u2019s get in touch with the government so they can gather the famers and fisherfolk to plough it and cultivate something on it, it\u2019s a shame that we should be in this community and something like this should be happening under our own government, go and read and see how the baby with the sharp tooth presented this story as well\u2026., eventually, some people among them took it\u201c, he said<\/p>\n
