Asamoah Gyan, captain of Ghana\u2019s national football team, has expressed concern over the lack of support for the Black Star game today.<\/p>\n

In a tweet, the captain noted that football gave Ghana a presence on the international stage but it so sad how everything is over-politicised in Ghana.<\/p>\n

In another tweet, he pleads with Ghanaians to show the team all the support they can offer and leave the matter of corruption in football to handle by the right authorities.<\/p>\n

Some Black Stars players have also begged to have certain payments to referees released to ensure qualification to the FIFA World Cup in Russia, the\u00a0former Minister of Youth and Sports<\/strong><\/a>, Nii Lante Vanderpuye, has revealed.<\/p>\n

At the time, the MP said he was \u201cscandalised\u201d by such demands.<\/p>\n

These \u201cunclassified payments\u201d have come up before, with the Vice-Chairman of the Black Stars Management Committee, Wilfred Kweku Osei Palmer suggesting that Ghana would have qualified for the World Cup if money was made available\u00a0to pay referees<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

Anas\u2019\u00a0#Number12 documentary\u00a0expos\u00e9<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0roped in political figures, referees and\u00a0officials of both the GFA and the National Sports Authority.<\/p>\n

Some high profile figures who were named by GFA boss Nyantakyi include Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, Deputy Roads Minister, Anthony Karbo, and MP for Assin Central and Anas\u2019 biggest critic over the last few days, Kennedy Agyapong.<\/p>\n

In the video, Nyantakyi, in interaction with persons, he believed to be investors, quoted several sums of money to be given to those political figures and himself to facilitate the deal.<\/p>\n
