The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced it will hold an Extraordinary Congress on September 30, to replace disgraced former Ghana Football Association boss, Kwesi Nyantakyi, on the FIFA Executive Council, after\u00a0he resigned<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0from all his positions at FIFA, CAF, WAFU and GFA following investigations by journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas.<\/p>\n

Nyantakyi, 49, has been\u00a0banned for 90 days<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>after he was caught on tape accepting cash gifts from a potential investor.<\/p>\n

The Wa All Stars Executive served on the powerful FIFA Executive Council, was CAF First Vice President, and WAFU Zone B President.<\/p>\n

CAF President Ahmad Ahmad made the announcement at the on-going FIFA Congress in Moscow where the voting to select a world cup host for 2026 will be decided on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Nyantakyi caught on tape taking cash gifts<\/strong><\/p>\n

The video among other things captured top officials of the football association including its President Kwesi Nyantakyi taking bribes to influence the offer of an invitation of players to the national team, influencing the duration of playing time offered to some players and influencing the selection of unfit players and referees to participate in games.<\/p>\n
