And let me tell you, if the court finds me guilty, I will pay Ghc25 million and it will not affect me,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/citinewsroom.com\/2018\/06\/08\/anas-sues-kennedy-agyapong-for-defamation-wants-gh%C2%A225m\/\"><strong>Anas sued Kennedy Agyapong<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0last week for defamation.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/aio8bY1LcX4\" width=\"854\" height=\"480\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><br \/>\nHe is demanding GH\u00a225 million in damages from the vociferous MP who recently launched a fierce campaign against Anas\u2019 mode of operation.<\/p>\n<p>Kennedy Agyapong in series of media interviews ahead of the premiere of Anas Aremeyaw Anas\u2019 expos\u00e9 on corruption in football, dubbed \u201cNumber12\u201d accused Anas of entrapping persons captured in the investigative film.<\/p>\n<p>He described Anas as very corrupt, and alleged that he was fond of taking bribes to exempt some persons he captures in his investigative films.<\/p>\n<p>When asked on Ekosii Sen his challenge with Anas, Mr. Agyapong said: \u201cMy interest is justice for everybody, and the truth must be told that Anas who was able to set up somebody is corrupt and takes higher bribes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy interest is that, firstly, his procedures are wrong. Secondly, Anas, who is investigating others should first investigate himself because he is more corrupt than anybody he has exposed. I respect NPP folks, but no NPP member can stop me from exposing these and evil corrupt journalists that are parading themselves as honest people,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Background<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Anas on June 6, 2018,\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/citinewsroom.com\/2018\/06\/06\/all-set-for-premiere-of-anas-number12-investigative-film\/\">released a video<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0which revealed what appears to be deep-rooted corruption in Ghana\u2019s football industry.<\/p>\n<p>Anas captured over 100 referees, match commissioners and top officials of the Ghana Football Association engaging in some corrupt practices and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/citinewsroom.com\/2018\/04\/30\/anas-new-expose-to-shame-top-politicians-administrators\/\"><strong>match-fixing<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0activities.<\/p>\n<p>Nyantakyi in the said video allegedly tried to lure the supposed investors to invest in other sectors of the country under some dubious means.<\/p>\n<p>He had demanded about $15 million from the investors to shared among President Nana Akufo-Addo, his vice, the Minister of Roads and Highways and his Deputy.<\/p>\n<p>He also told the supposed investors that Kennedy Agyapong was a loud person in the country and needed to be silenced.<\/p>\n<p>Nyantakyi was banned by FIFA for 90 days and subsequently resigned from his post.<\/p>\n<p>He also apologized to the politicians whom he tried using their name to seal the business deal and said he acted alone.<\/p>\n<p>\u2013<\/p>\n<p>By: Citinewsroom.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Outspoken member of the governing New Patriotic Party, Kennedy Agyapong, says investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas, cannot silence him with his lawsuit.
